Training – Methods of learning.

You require group training courses or individual coaching? You want to try out something new and are looking for a specialist offering web-based training?

We have just the trainers you need for your particular challenges or requirements. We have in-depth experience in the following fields:

  • Individual and group training courses
  • Coaching: ongoing, hands-on support for users
  • Top-level management courses
  • e-learning, computer-based training (CBT) and web-based training (WBT)
  • Large-scale events, e.g. version changes

Practical PC work is the primary focus of all courses and seminars. The theoretical learning units are interspersed with numerous practical exercises, with both theory and practice geared to the individual workplace requirements of course participants. For example, you are fully acquainted with software within a comparatively short space of time. This approach ensures successful transfer of the learning material to everyday practice.

Web-based training (WBT)

In our web-based seminars, the trainers and participants "meet" in a virtual classroom in the internet. They communicate with one another by way of a telephone conference. Thus, the trainer can provide the instruction and the members of the group are continually in touch with one another.
The virtual classroom offers the capability of using an electronic "blackboard" (wall panel), which is clearly visible on the participants' PC screens. This can be used for more formal presentations or for the communication of texts, diagrams, etc., between trainer and students.

There are also numerous other tools which support the learning process. A user who has something to say can raise his or her "electronic hand"; questions can be entered in a list; documentation can be made available online; surveys can be carried out among participants – and so on. A special tool can be used to show the trainer's screen on the participant's screen in realtime: this is ideally suitable for live demonstrations, e.g. of programs.

Very little technical know-how is required in order to use the virtual classroom.
The virtual classroom is excellently suited for courses with "remote" participants – the savings in terms of travel time and travel expenses are one of the major advantages of this method. Are you interested in setting up a virtual classroom? Curious to find out how it works? Just get in touch with us – we'll be delighted to give you a demonstration!

Large-scale events

At our large-scale events, an experienced COMEDIA. trainer instructs large groups of personnel in the use of new software.
This method of learning is particularly suitable when innovations are being introduced in an application which users are basically familiar with, e.g. when a new version of a software product is being launched.

The advantages are obvious: for a comparatively modest financial and organizational investment, large groups of personnel can be instructed in the use of the new versions or systems.
This approach is ideal if the learning material is relatively straightforward and a presentation of the software can be given in 1-2 hours by way of a live demonstration and/or overheads.

2 examples:

COMEDIA. has successfully staged a number of large-scale events:

  • in connection with the changeover from MS-Word Version 6 to MS-Word 97
  • in connection with the changeover from Lotus Notes Mail to MS-Outlook.

In these cases, up to 100 persons attended a talk – lasting approximately 90 minutes – given by a COMEDIA. trainer. Large-scale events can also be supplemented by backup measures, such as detailed handouts, question-and-answer sessions, additional hands-on work with a trainer, etc.
